Detroit rapper Skilla Baby runs through a range of styles and brings in a host of collaborators on his mixtape The Coldest. Skilla employs old-school, Oakland-influenced bass bounce on opening track "Trapped," gets into scattershot trap flows on "Free Big Meech," teams with Flo Milli for the glossy, synth-padded beat of "Whole Package," and enlists Jeremih to sing the hook on the smooth R&B-intoned track "Crash." Other notable guests include NoCap, G Herbo, Mozzy, DaBaby, and on the hard-edged standout track "Mama," Rob49 and Tay B. The project was Skilla Baby's first to break into the Billboard charts, debuting at the number 175 slot in its first week of release.
