Released a year before his eponymous solo debut album, Soul Wash is the 2009 digital EP from French vocalist Benjamin Duterde, aka, Ben L'Oncle Soul. Its six tracks, which transform contemporary pop songs into Motown/Stax-influenced retro-soul numbers, include covers of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl," Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy," Spice Girls' "Say You'll Be There," Aqua's "Barbie Girl," White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army," and Pink Martini's "Sympathique."
