Bobby Bland is certainly a soul legend (or a blues legend, depending on your view), as the title of MCA Special Products' compilation indicates. Thankfully, this budget-priced sampler does provide proper justification of its title. Though it is far from definitive, it does contain many of his greatest performances, such as "Cry, Cry, Cry," "Little Boy Blue" and "Farther Up the Road," which makes it worth the budget price.
