With this EP, Madrugada became an overnight success in their native country of Norway. After having been discovered playing live on the annual By:Larm festival, they were signed by Virgin records. The opening track here, the acoustic melancholic "The Riverbed," gained much airplay, and brought this EP to number two in the singles charts. The greatest song on the EP, however, and one of the finest in the entire Madrugada catalog, is "1990."
