Arriving around the same time as Special Request's ambitious second full-length, Belief System, Curtain Twitcher builds an EP around the album's most straightforward techno banger, a Hoover-laced slice of insanity. The rest of the EP follows suit, focusing on trippy, paranoid electro and techno tracks rather than ecstatic darkside jungle and breakbeat hardcore. The perfectly titled "Trippethylophosphazene" slips in some steady breakbeats and hallucinogenic synth sequences, while "No Phone Calls" features submerged acid squiggles and vinyl spinbacks along with a distraught cry of "I can't deal with the phone calls!," producing a more anxiety-riddled take on the standard Special Request sound. Peder Mannerfelt ends the release with a highly abstract club mutation, trapping a bit of MC chatter and a slamming beat inside a forcefield, never breaking through into a propulsive dance beat.
