Slatt Zy
Capable of turning heads with high-velocity rhymes, vivid choruses, and tense narratives, Tennessean rapper Slatt Zy started making major moves within only a couple years of recorded activity, and has issued his first two mixtapes -- including the UMG-supported East Lake Projects (2020) -- before his 19th birthday.
Slatt Zy (born Taizion Vinson) realized that rapping was more than a mere interest in his teens, while performing on street corners in his native Chattanooga. He took it to the studio in 2019, a year in which he was able to leave behind his job at a fast food restaurant and grow steadily with numerous independent singles. After he issued the Zy Story mixtape through Hitmaker Music Group in 2020, Slatt Zy inked a licensing deal with UMG and continued his steady rate of output, most notably with the TM88 collaboration "War Stories." Zy's second tape, East Lake Projects, followed that November.
