Golgotha
Not to be confused with the U.K.-based Golgotha, this Spanish death/doom ensemble was founded in 1992 by guitarist Vincent J. Paya and released several rather average releases through the Repulse label, including 1994's Caves of Mind EP, 1995's Melancholy full-length, 1997's The Way of Confusion EP, and 1998's Elemental Changes album, before quietly grinding to a halt. Widespread public indifference couldn't stop Paya from eventually reviving the group, however, and he even convinced Avulsed's Dave Rotten to contribute session vocals to 2005's New Life LP.
