Coleman Hell
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Canada, raspy-voiced, genre-mingling dance popster Coleman Hell is a producer/singer/songwriter based in Toronto, Canada. After a stint as half of the Thunder Bay hip-hop duo Burnz N Hell with Joey Burnz in the early 2010s, he co-founded the Toronto artist collective Sideways, which also included Shan Vincent de Paul, La+ch, and Michah. Amid a handful of singles beginning with 2012's dance rap "Glow" (produced by La+ch), he released the mixtape Stark Raving in 2013 and the thumping EP Vena in 2014. His breakthrough single "2 Heads" followed, a banjo-R&B-dance mosaic that topped streaming-service charts in early 2015, leading to a record deal with Columbia Records. With the label behind it, the song reached number 15 on Billboard's Canadian Hot 100 that fall. His full-length debut, Summerland, arrived in October 2016 and became a Top 30 album in Canada alongside another charting single, "Fireproof."
