Louisahhh unveils her dark side with this debut album – and no half measures, mind, since the entire record revolves around sex, death, addiction, BDSM, desire, submission… The American producer, who moved to Paris a decade ago on the advice of Brodinski, delivers herself body and soul throughout the record, like being accompanied on a journey through a long, dark tunnel, resounding with a nacreous industrial rock sound through 11 tracks that will leave no listener indifferent. The single Love Is a Punk sends the claustrophobes scattering from the get-go with an ultra-oppressive feverish ambience somewhere between punk, rock, industrial, electronica and techno. Louisahhh and American producer Vice Cooler share a passion for alternative rock – think Nine Inch Nails meets Garage – and have created a disorienting musical experience, stripping away the listener’s bearings. Of course, you can always fix your sense on her voice, chanting lyrics from a casket or on a walkie-talkie from hell, within her technofied maelstrom. However, the best move is to just surrender and let Louisahhh take the reins for a dark exploration of the depths of your psyche.
