Na enkele EP's (The New Black and White Vol.1 en 2) komt de Middelburgse singer-songwriter Danny Vera in 2016 weer met een volledig album. The Outsider wordt opgenomen in de studio van Frans Hagenaars en kent een mix van ballads en up tempo-nummers. Vera schreef alle nummers zelf, met uitzondering van het nummer "Loving Her Alone", dat hij samen met collega Douwe Bob componeerde.
