10 year anniversary edition of Snarky Puppy's 2010 album, remixed and remastered, including two bonus tracks (7 & 8) that previously appeared only as bonus features on the DVD of the original release. The original takes have been preserved in their entirety, free of any overdubbing. What you have in front of you is the first live album of a completely unknown band, recorded in Louisiana by Eric Hartman and mixed a decade later in New York by Nic Hard (and mastered by Dave McNair) — an unexpected collaboration with a thread woven through ten years of music and friendship.

In 1968, Miles Davis succumbed to the charm of the electricity fairy. Bewitched by the psychedelic and funky revolutions of Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone, the trumpet player made a radical change and, in passing, changed jazz too.
“The most beautiful sound next to silence.” That’s been ECM’s motto for the past fifty years. Manfred Eicher, the charismatic founder of the Munich label, seems to live in a parallel universe. And jazz sounds different on planet ECM. It is often thanks to this label that artists such as Keith Jarrett, Charles Lloyd, Jan Garbarek, Chick Corea have recorded their best records. Even more so than with Blue Note or Impulse! Limiting the whole history of this extraordinary label to just 10 records would be mission impossible. So, these 10 albums will tell not “the” story but “a” story of ECM.
Along with his former employer Miles Davis, pianist Herbie Hancock is the other founding father of jazz-fusion. In 1973, his album "Head Hunters" laid down the Holy Scriptures of the most successful union of jazz improvisation and funk psychedelic trance. Afros and platform boots all around!
