As is usually the case with political hardcore, the Suicide File's second album has an unavoidable level of earnest moralizing in its lyrics, albeit wrapped in song titles like the admirably blunt "Fuck Fox News." So, yes, this is one of those records where disagreeing with the band's leftist politics would be a huge hindrance to enjoying the music, the same way that people who aren't racists can't stomach Skrewdriver. Assuming one's political beliefs don't stand in the way, Some Mistakes You Never Stop Paying For is solidly dependable hardcore punk with some occasional emo touches. There's nothing stylistically new here, but the Suicide File do what they do with the right amount of seething intensity, giving even undistinguished raveups like "I Hate Rock N' Roll" enough energy to put them over.
