Chango Spasuik is a gifted Argentinian accordionist who has parlayed his abiding fascination with the folk music of Eastern Europe, America, Portugal, and his native Argentina into a rewarding and stylistically eclectic career. Chango is best known as a master of the Argentinean folk form called chamame but his interpretations of styles as diverse as fado, descarga, and even Cuban son are equally remarkable, performed with frantic energy and restless syncopation.
