Post Tropical is het tweede album van de Ierse singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow. Voor de opnames reisde hij af naar een kleine studio in Texas. Qua sound is dit album bijna het tegenovergestelde van zijn in 2011 uitgebrachte folkalbum Early in The Morning. Dit album is een soulvolle aangelegenheid met zachte synthesizergolven, electronische beats, blazers en McMorrows hoge falsetstem. Het roept direct associaties op met Bon Ivers eerste album, maar vooral ook met diens Engelse collega James Blake. McMorrow zit ergens precies tussen die twee in, maar kiest voor een meer vintage soulgeluid, waardoor hij de voornoemde associaties overstijgt en een eigen pad creëert om te bewandelen.
