The Inflorescence
The melodic, punk-injected indie rock of the Inflorescence is further fueled by lyrics about heartbreak and resolve delivered with exasperation by lead singer and songwriter Tuesday Denekas. The band signed with Kill Rock Stars for the release of their 2022 debut album, Remember What I Look Like.
Started by a group of San Diego teens in 2019, the Inflorescence were calling themselves the Fluorescents when they released their first EP in May 2020. Self Titled consisted of songs written by singer/guitarist Tuesday Denekas between the ages of 14 and 17. Referring to themselves as a "no-man band" and inspired by the full range of indie, punk, emo, grunge, and alternative styles, Denekas, bassist Sasha A'Hearn, drummer Milla Merlini, and guitarist/singer Charlee Berlin rebranded as the Inflorescence before finding a home on the Kill Rock Stars roster. Their full-length debut, Remember What I Look Like, arrived on the label in June of 2022. At the time, members were balancing high school and college classes with shows booked at all-ages venues.
