Nino Paid

Nino Paid draws from a turbulent upbringing to relate grim autobiographical narratives and signs of hope with a deadpan flow full of subtle inflections. The DMV-area rapper released his first track at the age of 17, but it wasn't until a few years later that he dedicated himself to music, reintroducing himself in 2023 with the plainspoken "Been Thru." Quickly signed by the Columbia-distributed Signal Records, Nino has progressed with Can't Go Bacc and Love Me as I Am, ruminative albums issued respectively in 2024 and 2025.Born Jacquan Andrews, Nino Paid grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland. As a youngster, he and his siblings were placed in the foster care system after his parents lost custody. He started rapping in his early teens, around the time he was first incarcerated, and within a few years was recording under the name Zeal. That phase didn't last long, but in 2023, at which point he was in his early twenties, he began making a name for himself as Nino Paid, officially releasing seven tracks that year, starting with "Been Thru" and including "Pain & Possibilities," his breakthrough. Some of these songs, and others that followed during the first few months of the next year, appeared on Can't Go Bacc, Nino's full-length debut, issued in April 2024. Among the newer highlights was "JB Couch," a heartfelt track promoting self-reliance. Within a year, Nino had released another slew of singles and followed up with Love Me as I Am, led by the cautionary "Joey Story" and the philosophical "Play This at My Funeral."
