John Gold

Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter John Gold crafts breezy, nuanced, indie pop gems that suggest a long, steady diet of West coast classic rock like Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell, and Harry Nilsson, as well as a penchant for the literate, indie folk musings of contemporaries like Josh Ritter, Rufus Wainwright, and M. Ward. Gold, who did a brief stint in New York City before settling in to the Hollywood apartment that would become his songwriting haven for almost a decade, released his independent debut, These Are Color Days, in 2002, followed by Eastside Shake in 2004. Subsequent years found Gold's music appearing in the popular Showtime series Weeds, as well as the independent film Mean Creek. Gold signed with Vagrant Records in 2010, resulting in the release of his third long player, 2011’s A Flower in Your Head.
