David Pfeffer
Born on April 11, 1982 in Herten, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, pop singer David Pfeffer rose to fame when he won the second season of X-Factor in 2011. Mentored by judge Till Brönner, Pfeffer beat contestant Raffaela Wais in the show's finale on December 6, 2011 with his own song, "I'm Here" (a power ballad which was released as a single the same day) and his renditions of Melanie C's "First Day of My Life" and Hoobastank's "The Reason." Three days after Pfeffer's victory, his debut album I Mind hit the stores, featuring guitar-based pop songs and introspective ballads. Pfeffer, who used to work as a policeman (which earned him the nickname "Sergeant Pepper"), also fronts an indie rock group called Inpaticula who have released a download EP (A Little Confession) and serve as his touring band.
