Dana Buoy
Dana Buoy is the solo vehicle for Portland-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dana Janssen. Janssen's initial success came in the mid-2000s as a member of the Brooklyn indie rock outfit Akron/Family. Following a cross-country move to Portland, Oregon in 2010, Janssen began recording brightly hued bedroom pop under the name Dana Buoy. Inspired by both his recent move and a budding romantic relationship, his 2012 debut, Summer Bodies, had a warmly exuberant tone and a lightly experimental feel. Two years later, he followed up with the Preacher EP, which veered into a more electronic-oriented territory. Returning in early 2018, Dana Buoy's second full-length, Ice Glitter Gold, was preceded by its title track and another single, "Twisted Sky."
