Exclusive interview with Joe Elliott and Rick Savage on the occasion of the release of “Diamond Star Halos”, an album that reminds us that Def Leppard goes far beyond the world of hard rock and metal.

Def Leppard | Qobuz Interview

Qobuz

Is it finally time for Def Leppard to be recognised? With the release of their twelfth album, Diamond Star Halos, many people are discovering that the now sixty-year-old British band are much more than just another hairy metal gang, confined to the English hard rock scene of the 80s along with Iron Maiden and Saxon. Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath are certainly part of Def Leppard’s DNA, and we can also hear the glam rock influence of T-Rex, David Bowie and Mott The Hoople, as well as the eternal rock’n’roll of the Rolling Stones in their electric universe... In an interview with Qobuz, singer Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage discuss the eclecticism of their influences, the years of media purgatory and the belated recognition they are finally enjoying.
