Throw The Fight

A hard-hitting post-hardcore unit based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Throw the Fight specialize in hook-driven melodic metalcore with elements of alternative rock. Since emerging in 2003, the band has issued a string of dynamic albums and EPs, including What Doesn't Kill Us (2012), Transmissions (2016), and Strangeworld (2023), that combine raw power with anthemic modern rock. Founded in 2003 and comprised of Ryan Baustert (guitar), Kris Weiser (guitar), Kade Kastelitz (bass, vocals), and Jeff Baustert (drums), Throw the Fight built a grassroots following with their sweat-fueled live performances and a handful of independently released demos and EPs. After inking a deal with Cordless Records in 2008, a netlabel owned by Warner Music Group, the band issued their debut studio long-player In Pursuit of Tomorrow. They tapped John Feldmann (Story of the Year, the Used, Atreyu) to produce their sophomore effort, 2012's Billboard-charting What Doesn't Kill Us, which was released through Bullet Tooth Records. The Vault, an EP consisting of B-sides, appeared the following year. 2016's Transmissions and 2020's Settle Your Sins saw the band working with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, who helped to further refine their distinctive blend of fist-pumping hard rock and angsty, punk-leaning hardcore. Throw the Fight moved to Long Branch Records ahead of the arrival of 2023's potent Strangeworld, which was produced by Josh Gilbert and Joseph McQueen (As I Lay Dying, Bad Wolves).
