Sangiovanni

Sangiovanni is the pseudonym of Italian singer-songwriter Giovanni Pietro Damian, born in the town of Grumolo delle Abbadesse on January 9, 2003. He wrote his first batch of songs at the age of 16 and then released the singles “Paranoia,” “Non +,” and “Guccy Bag” in 2020. That same year, he participated in the TV talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, reaching the finals and finishing runner-up. In 2021, Sangiovanni cracked the Italian Top 5 with the single “Lady,” an infectious electro-pop number that was certified quadruple platinum shortly after its release. The track was included in his eponymous debut EP, which shot straight to the top of the Italian charts and achieved platinum sales. Other charting singles from the EP included “Hype,” “Tutta la Notte,” and “Malibu,” his first song to ever reach Number 1 on the Italian Singles Chart. An additional single titled “Ragi Gamma” was also issued during 2021, peaking at Number 27 in Italy.
