Lenny Fontana
House producer and DJ Lenny Fontana has been active in dance music since the mid-'80s, when he began a career that has included spinning at venues ranging from New York's revered Better Days and Studio 54 to Pacha Ibiza Dubai. As a producer, the native New Yorker started in the early '90s and quickly earned notice for his work on Butch Quick's Strictly Rhythm single "Higher," after which he continued to support other vocalists and record under a myriad of solo and collaborative aliases. Among his most popular tracks are "What You Need" (as one-half of Powerhouse), the DJ Shorty collaboration "Chocolate Sensation" (with references to '70s club classics by Johnny Hammond and Loleatta Holloway), "The Way" (featuring Octah'via), and "Raise Your Hands" (featuring James "D-Train" Williams). The last of those hits was released on Fontana's own Karmic Power label; the majority of the producer's consistently deep and emotive output since 2013 has been released on Karmic Power as well.
