Julion Alvarez.

Julio César Álvarez Montelongo (April 11, 1983), better known as Julión Álvarez, is a singer who performs in the Regional Mexican genre. Born and raised in La Concordia, Chiapas, he made his debut as a performer in 2003 as the lead vocalist for the Banda MS ensemble, where he stayed until 2006. Only a year later, he re-emerged with a new group titled Julión Álvarez y Su Norteno Banda and an album titled Corazón Mágico. In just a few years, the band established itself as one of the most popular Regional music acts in Mexico and even received a Latin Grammy nomination in the Best Banda Album category for their 2015 LP El Aferrado; a feat they repeated only a year later with the studio full-length Mis Ídolos, Hoy Mis Amigos!!! In 2017, his music was banned from streaming services due to alleged ties with drug trafficking rings. Despite the controversy, Julión Álvarez's album Ni Diablo, Ni Santo still managed to score a nomination for Best Regional Mexican Music Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. After being acquitted in 2022, streaming services made his entire catalog available again. That same year, his 2019 single "Más Te Recuerdo" re-entered the Mexican charts at Number 79.
