DUSTY LOCANE

Gruff Brooklyn drill rapper Dusty Locane got off to a fast start with his first few commercial singles in 2020 and 2021, particularly "Rollin N Controllin Freestyle" and "Rolando (Caught in the Rain)." These culminated in his debut full-length Untamed, which charted in the Billboard 200. Hailing from Canarsie, the same neighborhood as Pop Smoke -- the artist to whom he has been most frequently compared -- Locane grew up listening to legends such as 2Pac, the Notorious B.I.G., and Jay-Z, but it wasn't until 2020 that he saw his own aspirations take shape. That year, he issued "Rollin N Controllin Freestyle" and "Rolando (Caught in the Rain)." Views of the video for "Rollin N Controllin Freestyle" reached seven figures by the year's end, but the track truly went viral the following January. By early February, Locane had released his third and fourth commercially available tracks, "Intro 2 Me, Pt. 1" and "Rumble." A second part of "Rollin N Controllin" appeared, and the full-length Untamed arrived in December, hitting number 123 on the Billboard 200.
