Chin Chinawut
Chinawut-Stéphane Indracusin, commonly known as Chin Chinawut, is a Thai singer, actor, and dancer born on August 13, 1989, in Bangkok. With a Thai Chinese father and a French mother, he inherited a rich cultural background. His early talents in beatboxing, dancing, and music composition led him to join GMM Grammy’s G-JUNIOR young artist development program. In 2003, Chin, along with Rittidet Rittichu and Guy Ellis, formed the group Big 3, which blended hip-hop with pop and R&B on the albums We Are Big 3 (2003) and Ten Club (2006). Chin's breakthrough came in 2007 when he released his studio debut, Chin Up. Its lead single, "Pak Mai Trong Gub Jai," topped the local charts for weeks, cementing his status as one of the fastest-rising stars in the Thai music scene. He further showcased his diversity by recording songs in Chinese for a Malaysian commercial for the Sony Skinny T Digital Camera. His international influence grew, and in 2008, he released his critically acclaimed album, Maybe I'm Bad. The album featured hits like "Keun Tee Neung," "Hua jai mai chai gra-dard," and "Too Fast Too Serious." During this time, Chin Chinawut played Joshua in the Taiwanese drama Love 18 (2009) and made his silver screen debut in the 2013 film Tong Sook 13. That year, he scored one of the biggest hits of his career with the song "Ya Bok Chan Wa Hai Pai," featured in the soundtrack of the Thai drama Su Pap Bu Rood Ju Tha Thep. Between 2016 and 2018, he served in the Royal Thai Army, where he also worked as an artist. Over the following years, Chin Chinawut continued to make waves in Thai pop music with the 2021 Golf Pilchaya collaboration "Limerence" and the singles "You & I" and "Maybe," both released in 2023.
