Casey Barnes

From Australia to Nashville, Casey Barnes brings a touch of the Gold Coast sunshine to his pop-rock-pumped contemporary country balladry. Born in Tasmania, Queensland on September 3, 1978, the singer-songwriter released his debut self-titled album in 2007 and the following year found chart success with Marco Demark's version of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer," which made it to Number 66 in Australia. Casey Barnes first rose to prominence as a contestant on the seventh season of Australian Idol in 2009, releasing his Red Lion Motel EP in May 2010, before traveling to Nashville to write his second album with Queensland-born Rick Price. Jet Trails was released in 2012 and helped the burgeoning artist put down roots in the US. Produced by Rick Price and mixed by Grammy-winning Jason Leaning, the Flesh & Bone EP landed in 2014, with Casey Barnes continuing to make a name for himself on the American radio waves and at competitions. In 2016, he mapped out a connection with his homeland for his third studio album, Live as One, which was recorded in Nashville but tipped its hat to Australia in the title track's Australian celebrity-led video. Live as One's second single "Just like Magic" topped the Top 40 Country Tracks Chart and the Australian Country Radio Charts, with the album peaking at Number 97 in Australia. Daubed with splatters of crunchy, country-rock guitars and driving pop energy, his fourth album, The Good Life, arrived in 2018 and peaked at Number 2 on the ARIA Australian Country Album Chart. 2020 was a landmark year for Casey Barnes; his fifth album, Town of a Million Dreams, was nominated for Best Country Album at the ARIA Music Awards. 2021 ushered in the release of new single "Come Turn Me On," which peaked at Number 47 in Australia.
