鳳飛飛

Lim Chiu-Luan (born on August 20, 1953 in Dasi, Taoyuan County, Taiwan) (known as Feng Fei-Fei) is a Taiwanese singer and actress. At the age of 15, she won a singing competition, featuring on a compilation album in 1970 with the song "掌聲響起 ". Changing her professional name to Feng Fei Fei in 1972, she released her first album, Wishing You Well which was received to critical acclaim. Known for her poignant love songs and extensive vocal range (as well as her extensive hat collection), Feng Fei Fei was recognised as one of the top ten Southeast Asian singers in 1974. Winning the Taiwan’s Golden Bell Awards in both 1983 and 1984, she established a considerable fan base throughout Asia, releasing more than 80 albums over her 40-year career and performing in almost 100 film scores. After struggling with severe medical issues that affected her vocal cords, which forced her to cancel her last performances, Chiu-Luan died on July 3, 2012 at the age of 58, of lung cancer. In 2013, she was posthumously awarded the Special Contribution Award during the Golden Melody Awards ceremony in 2013 with cultural minister Lung Ying-tai naming her as Taiwan's national singer.
