Los Black Keys ingresaron al legendario estudio Muscle Shoals, grabaron su sexto álbum por su propia cuenta y lo denominaron Brothers. La elección del estudio, por no mencionar el arte de tapa, es un claro indicio de que el blues duro de los primeros discos de los Black Keys está de regreso, pero eso no quiere decir que hayan olvidado lo aprendido durante su reciente intervalo psicodélico. Brothers puede volverse a ratos decididamente volado, pero el disco está construido con sangre y mugre, de modo que aún en sus momentos de mayor descontrol no deja de sonar crudo, sin jamás volverse prosaico.
