Rhany

Full name Rhany Kabbadj, singer and actor Rhany was born in 1972 in Marrakech. As a child, everything seemed to predestine him to become a comedian, as the young boy enjoyed imitating his parents' idols, such as Charlie Chaplin and Elvis Presley. At the age of 14, however, he decided to devote himself to music after realizing that people were focusing more on his voice than his body language. He lived in El Manzah, Tunisia, but soon left for Paris and the United States, where at the age of 17 he composed and recorded his first song, before returning to Morocco, where he began his career in earnest, often appearing on television. In 1997, he released his very first album, Dablet, heavily influenced by Latin American music. His love of Cuban and Latino rhythms led him to travel to Cuba in 1999 to record his second album, Alamtini. His long career has seen him release numerous albums, including Ana Maghribi in 2011, B'nadem, Mamia and Saraha Raha in 2013, as well as Bladi Lghalia in 2015 and Jabni Mjiba in 2016. A multi-faceted artist, he has also launched a successful career in comedy, first appearing in a number of TV series and then doing stand-up.
