MikeySem
Coming from a freestyle battle rap background, Ziak is a French enigmatic MC who hides his identity behind a black bandana. Hailing from Evry, he began rapping from a very early age and made his debut with the group Prochains Héritiers under the name Mikeysem in 2013. Heavily influenced by British drill, most notably rapper M24, he changed his stage name to Ziak and embarked on a solo career that started in 2020 with the single “Raspoutine.” After delivering a handful of singles that generated a lot of buzz in the French underground hip-hop scene during 2020, he finally hit his stride in 2021 with his single “Galerie,” which went viral on social media platforms and accumulated millions of streams. It was this success that helped him land a record deal with the Millenium label and become one of the lead exponents of drill in his native country. Following a feature on Trafiquinte’s “Brownie,” Ziak dropped his highly anticipated studio debut Akimbo in 2021. “Shonen,” one of the album’s singles, peaked at Number 14 on the French charts.
