Gavin Haley

A pop singer and songwriter best known for his emotive relationship songs, Gavin Haley counts Ed Sheeran and Frank Ocean among his many inspirations. While his 2016 debut single, "Fades Away," topped charts at streaming sites, his popularity surged with the release of his debut EP, 2019's Long Game, and accompanying single "The Way I Am" featuring Ella Vos. His first album, i hate you, Don't Leave Me, saw release in 2022. Raised mostly in Louisville, Kentucky, Haley began singing in church as a preteen. By age 16, his family had relocated to Northern California, where Gavin had a brief career in off-road cycling that took him to Belgium. He was there when he suffered an injury. While recovering, he took in some of Europe's underground music scene and was particularly inspired by some of the live performances he saw. Retiring from cycling while still in his teens and newly focused on making music, Haley moved to Los Angeles and released his debut single, "Fades Away," on Ohm House in late 2016. It made its way onto streaming charts in the U.S., U.K., and Australia. In the meantime, he had written scores of additional songs. Featuring equally spare electronics, "Waiting for You" followed early 2017. A contract with Red Bull Records in 2018 produced a series of singles including "Better Off" and "Jet Lag" before Haley delivered his first EP, Long Game, in 2019. It included the international streaming hit "The Way I Am," a ballad featuring Ella Vos. The affectionate "Tati," a collaboration with rapper Yung Pinch, saw release in early 2020. That song made a fan of blink-182's Travis Barker, who issued a more rock-minded remix that July, four months before the song appeared on Haley's follow-up EP, Unfolding. A third EP for Red Bull, Bike Rides Alone, followed in 2021. Haley toured North America in support of Canadian singer Tate McRae in early 2022 before releasing his debut album, i hate you, Don't Leave Me. It arrived on Red Bull that July.
