Martin Lehmann

Choral conductor Martin Lehmann began studying music as a chorister in the Dresdner Kreuzchor. He studied conducting with Hans-Christoph Rademann while serving as assistant conductor of the Dresdner Kammerchor. In 1995, Lehmann founded Cantamus Dresden, drawing on former members of the Kreuzchor and bringing in women vocalists. From 2000 to 2005, he was a teaching assistant at the Musikhochschule Carl-Maria von Weber in Dresden, and earned degrees in choral conducting in 2001 and 2004. He also conducted the Schola Cantorum Leipzig and the Wuppertaler Kurrende, and led the group Amici del Canto. He became the conductor of the Windsbacher Knabenchor in 2012, and took the ensemble on two tours to China and one in Spain. Lehmann has conducted performances with the Dresdner Barockorchester, the Deutsche Kammer-Virtuosen Berlin, and the Akademie für Alte Musik, Berlin, and his recordings appear on Sony Classical and Deutsche Harmonia Mundi.
