Maldy
Puerto Rican singer Maldy (Edwin Vázquez Vega) became famous as one half of Plan B. Founded with his cousin Chencho Corleone, the duo was one of the most popular acts from the first wave of reggaeton that took the world by storm in the early 2000s. During a two-decade career, Plan B released three albums (plus two more as members of the La Fórmula collective), several mixtapes, and numerous singles, appeared on countless compilations and playlists, and collaborated with all of the genre's superstars. Somewhat relegated to the background by the scores of newcomers that flooded the urbano scene, the cousins decided to put Plan B on hold and concentrate on their respective solo projects in 2018. Maldy released his debut album Sicalipsis in 2019, but soon had to interrupt his activities due to the pandemic. He resurfaced with a bang in 2023 when Karol G invited him to guest on her megahit "Gatúbela," a track that saluted Maldy as an icon of old-school reggaeton. Signed by Warner, he began releasing singles on an almost monthly basis. A new album was slated for 2024.
