Jeremy McComb
A country singer and songwriter from Nashville by way of the Northwest, Jeremy McComb was born in Post Falls, Idaho in 1981, where he caught the music bug from his father, who worked with a local country band and would often play six nights a week. Young Jeremy liked to tag along when his dad performed, and when he was eight years old, he made his stage debut when his father brought him out one night to sing "On the Road Again." In his teens, McComb began writing and singing songs, influenced by singer/songwriters like Jim Croce and Shawn Mullins, as well as country acts ranging from the Marshall Tucker Band to Radney Foster. In his early twenties, McComb was a disc jockey and music director at a radio station in Spokane, Washington, and through his work he was introduced to Dan Whitney, whose career as comic Larry the Cable Guy was starting to take off in a big way. Whitney hired McComb to be his tour manager, and the experience helped him get his foot in the door of the music business; as Jerome McComb, he appeared on the soundtrack album to Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2006), and two Blue Collar Comedy Tour releases, One for the Road (2006) and the collection Truckload Sale (2007). In 2008, McComb struck a deal with independent label Parallel Entertainment, which released his debut album, My Side of Town, in tandem with New Revolution. The album spawned three singles, including "This Town Needs a Bar" and "Cold," the latter of which connected at country radio and rose to number 43 on the Hot Country Songs chart. McComb struck out on his own with his second album, 2011's Leap and the Net Will Appear, which he produced himself and released through his own McCombOVER label. One of the tracks, "Easy as Breathin'," generated significant radio play, even though McComb never officially issued it as a single. In 2013, McComb married Kourtney Hansen, an actress with a recurring role on the TV series Nashville. After turning his back on the Nashville songwriting game for a while to focus on more personal material, McComb dropped his third album, the more rock-oriented FM, in early 2016. When not on the road, McComb helps run Nashville North, a country music venue in Stateline, Idaho.
