Dykeritz
Dykeritz is a singer/songwriter from New Jersey based out of Los Angeles who has been staunchly independent and self-sufficient since beginning his music career at age 13. Odd and off-kilter experimental early work developed into the humorous, insightful, and sometimes melancholic indie songwriting of offerings like his 2022 album Twin Flame Reunion.
Utilizing acoustic guitars, synths, and anything else at his disposal, Dykeritz recorded a plethora of unofficial albums, some of which bordered on oddities, others pure exaltation, beginning when he was just a kid. Eventually, his sound developed, and he was able to take his project to the next level, releasing the fully evolved and somewhat shoegaze-textured Rearrangerologyistics in 2008. From there, Dykeritz's discography slowed down somewhat, with Dreamer's Whip surfacing in 2018, Madrigals in 2020, and Twin Flame Reunion in 2022. Along with more serious tunes, Twin Flame Reunion included the gentle soft rock ballad "Free Tekashi 6ix9ine," a bittersweet (if hilarious) ode to the then-imprisoned SoundCloud rapper.
