Dee Watkins
Florida-based rapper Dee Watkins shares tales from his past in order to showcase his wild side, while choosing not to stick to the Southern rap blueprint so that he can forge his own sound.
Born in 1998 in Jacksonville, Florida, Watkins began rapping by the time he turned nine. Although part of his high school football team, his priorities changed after uploading tracks online in 2014, where they blew up. Although he was already turning heads, it wasn't until he took part in the 2019 City Girls "Act Up" remix challenge that he broke through. Capitalizing on his newfound attention, he released the singles "Bad Ass Jit" and "Hell Raiser," which firmly cemented him in the Florida rap scene. The latter track appeared on his debut full-length project, 2019's Problem Child, which he self-released. It wasn't long before labels were looking to snap him up, with Watkins eventually signing to Alamo Records as a result. This led to 2020's Chosen One, which featured a remix of "Bad Ass Jit" that included a guest verse from Young Dolph. Problem Child 2 followed later the same year, with further projects in 2021, including Not One of Them and Problem Child 3. He went on to release Quail Lane Baby in 2022.
