Nicht ganz vier Jahre nach ihrem Debütalbum If You Wait veröffentlichten London Grammar im Juni 2017 ihre zweite Platte Truth Is a Beautiful Thing. Die britische Indie-Pop-Band führt darauf den Ansatz des Erstlings nahtlos weiter: Die melancholischen Songs bieten der dramatischen Stimme von Frontfrau Hannah Reid viel Raum, sich zu entfalten, und sind meist sehr zurückhaltend arrangiert - auch wenn gelegentlich Songs wie "Bones of Ribbon" oder "Leave the War with Me" die ruhigen Passagen durchbrechen. Als Singles wurden vorab "Rooting for You", "Big Picture", der Titeltrack und "Oh Woman Oh Man" ausgekoppelt, nach dem Albumrelease folgten noch "Non Believer" und "Hell to the Liars". In England kam die Platte an die Spitze der Charts, in Deutschland erreichte sie Platz 9.
