Yuiko Ohara

Born on February 5, 1992, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, Yuiko Ōhara is a singer / songwriter best known for her work for several anime projects with Toho Animation Records. With an interest in music at the age of 3, her mother enrolled her in music classes. By the time she was in junior high school, she was already playing the violin and guitar. Initially attending a university to focus on a profession outside of music, she eventually enrolled in a music vocational school. She began her career as a live performer in 2012 while also participating in competitions and auditions. In 2015, Yuiko Ōhara finally got her big break when her audition for Toho Animation Records was a success and she was asked to record “Magic Parade” for the anime short Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade. The song became her debut single in October 2015. Although the song was not a major commercial success, it paved the way for her next single, 2017’s "If You Follow the Stars” (the theme to the anime TV series Little Witch Academia), which reached Number 71 on the singles chart. Later that year, her third single, “Transparent Wings” (also from Little Witch Academia) reached Number 80. She capped off a productive 2017 with her fourth single, “Glittering Shore” (Number 69) and her first mini album, also titled Glittering Shore. February 2018 saw the release of “Do Not Say That,” which rose to Number 43. Several other singles followed - including 2018’s “High Stepper” (Number 61) and 2019’s “Zero Centimeter” (Number 55) – before the release of her debut album When Naming the Stars (2019). That album was followed by the 2021 mini album Theme Song Collection. In July 2022, she released the mini album Island Memories which included songs that were featured in the anime series Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 3.
