Ulfuls
The Ulfuls are a four-piece Japanese rock band who formed in Osaka in 1988. Their initial forays into the music business were unsuccessful until the mid-nineties when they were suddenly projected into superstardom with a string of hits which included tracks such as 'Guts Da Ze!!' and 'Boogie Woogie '96'.
For most of their subsequent career the band traded off the back of their 1990s chart success passionately supported by a hardcore group of fans and as late as 2005 Ulfuls had a top ten single with the release of 'Go Crazy/It's OK'. To date they have released 15 studio albums with their most successful being 'Banzai' which topped the album charts in 1996.
In 2018 guitarist Keisuke Iwamoto announced he was leaving the band to pursue a solo career and the band have recently confirmed they intend to continue performing as a three piece. In 2019 the group released 'U!!!' which reached number 16 in the Japanese charts.
