Tyde Levi
Australia's Tyde Levi makes atmospheric, R&B-informed pop. After emerging as a social media personality when he was still a preteen, he released his eponymous debut EP in 2018 at the age of 18.
The youngest of four siblings who include pop musician Troye Sivan (Mellet), Tyde Levi Mellet was born in Mirrabooka in suburban Perth in 2000. He began building a fan base with videos posted to his social media channel as early as 2011. He garnered hundreds of thousands of followers after appearing on his brother's channel in 2012. Levi appeared as an extra in the 2013 film Spud 2: The Madness Continues, starring Troye and John Cleese, before opting for homeschooling at the age of 14 in order to have a more flexible schedule for his music.
Putting in some time on-stage, he performed at the Good Life Festival, a showcase for under-18 artists, and headlined AmplifyLIVE in 2016. The following year, Levi wrote songs including future singles "Goldchains" and "Sober" in writing sessions with Daniel Johns and EDM duo Cosmo's Midnight. He made his recording debut in late 2018 with the EP Tyde Levi, which included fully produced and acoustic versions of three songs, including "Goldchains" and "Sober."
