Thomas Day's earnest and relatable pop songs chronicle the struggles of young adulthood with an open heart and a keen ear for melody. The Tennessee native, whose background in production and musical theater helped him to establish a robust online presence while still in his teens, went viral with his passionate cover of Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain." He amassed an army of followers after moving to TikTok in 2019, with his renditions of songs by Bruno Mars, Lewis Capaldi, and Sam Smith garnering millions of views. A string of original tracks followed, including the streaming hits "Softly," "Not My Job Anymore," and "Wildflower," resulting in a record deal with Arista. Those songs and seven others appeared on his first full-length effort, Love Me for Another Day, in 2023.
