Orchestre Les Siècles
Founded in 2003 by conductor François-Xavier Roth, Les Siècles (Centuries) is a French symphonic orchestra. Each of the musicians play musical works using period-appropriate instruments. Les Siècles perform regularly in Paris and other cities in France as well as internationally on some of the world’s most prestigious stages in cities such as London (BBC Proms, Royal Festival Hall), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Berlin (Konzerthaus), Bremen, Brussels (Klara Festival), Bucharest (Enescu Festival), and others. The ensemble is so eager to share their passion for classical music, the members regularly offer educational services at schools, hospitals and prisons. The orchestra received exclusive permission in 2013 to perform Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring as it was heard on May 29, 1913 at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Their award-winning catalog of releases include Bizet - Chabrier (2007), Stravinsky: The Firebird (2011), Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring (2014, Debussy: Jeux/Nocturnes/Prélude à l'Après-Midi d'Un Faune (2018), and Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique (2019).
