Kiha Chang

The singer/songwriter Chang Kiha earned critical acclaim, commercial success, and multiple Korean Music Award as frontman of Kiha & The Faces, then pursued a solo career after the band's split in 2018. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, on February 20, 1982, and formed Kiha & The Faces in 2008. Inspired by indie-folk, indie-rock, and other disparate genres, he introduced his band's unique sound with the debut single "Cheap Coffee," which was named "Best Rock Song" and "Song of the Year" by the 2009 Korean Music Awards. His first Top 40 hit with the band, "A Sort of Relationship," followed in 2011, with 2013's "Super Weeds Man" climbing all the way to Number 8. By the time "Super Weeds Man" was released, Kiha & The Faces had already won seven Korean Music Awards, with Chang Kiha emerging as the band's songwriter, spokesperson, and leader. Following the release of five full-length albums, two of which cracked the Top 10, the band split up in 2018. Kiha continued making appearances on variety shows like Radio Star and You Hee-yeol's Sketchbook as a pop-culture celebrity, then began focusing on music once again with his first release as a solo artist. "Envy None" was released in 2022, reaching Number 100 on South Korean's K-Pop chart that spring.
