Jim Corcoran
Born to an English-speaking family, Jim Corcoran has become one of Canada's most gifted Francophone songwriters. Initially attracting attention as one-half of a duo, Jim & Bertrand, that he shared with composer/vocalist Bertrand Gosselin from 1972 until 1979, Corcoran continues to set well-crafted, humor-tinged lyrics to a unique blend of blues, rock, and folk music.
Deeply devoted to American music, Corcoran has primarily recorded in Nashville and Memphis. Since 1994, he has worked with a trio featuring guitarist Pierre Cote and bassist Daniel Hubert.
Corcoran's greatest exposure has come as host of a weekly, Saturday night radio show for CBC (Radio Canada).
