Invisible Familiars

The project of singer/songwriter Jared Samuel, Brooklyn's psychedelic pop outfit Invisible Familiars also features guitarist Robbie Mangano and drummer Tim Kuhl. In addition, Kuhl and Mangano play with Sean Lennon's band the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, while Samuel has collaborated with that group as well as Cibo Matto, Sharon Jones, and Martha Wainwright. After holing up in a houseboat to write songs in seclusion, Samuel recruited co-producer Michael Leonhart as well as friends such as Jolie Holland, Nels Cline, Antibalas' Stuart Bogie, and Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori to flesh out what would become Invisible Familiars' debut album. Other Music issued their debut single "Clever Devil" in June 2014, with the follow-up "Heavenly Devil" arriving that October. The band's first full-length, Disturbing Wildlife, was released in January 2015.
