Farrah Fawx

Farrah Fawx is a genre-bending singer, rapper, and songwriter who launched her music career during the late-2000s under the name "Audra the Rapper." She was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in nearby Richmond, Virginia. Brandy, Missy Elliot, and Lauryn Hill were early inspirations, as was the gospel music she began singing in church at a young age. She released debut mixtape as Audra the Rapper, Sweet and Sour, in 2007, while only 16 years old. After releasing second mixtape, Miseducation of Audra, in 2010, she began working with mentor Rick Ross and was named "Best Female Rap Artist" at the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) Awards in 2011. Not long after releasing her first full-length album, Anti Love Songs, in 2016, Audra the Rapper rebranded herself as "Farrah Fawx" and began expanding her R&B sound to incorporate genres like house and pop music. Working with producers Jimmy Edgar and KLSH, she unveiled her new persona with the 2019 single "Never Thought." Farrah Fawx also collaborated with other R&B singers, appearing on Tray Haggerty's "Waterfalls" and making a cameo on Rochelle Jordan's 2021 release Play With The Changes. One year later, she released the five-song EP The Hopeful Cynic, which featured singles like "Bias" and "Dollar Bamboos."
