Absent from the scene since their scandalously slept-on 1999 full-length, RESURRECTION, DoItAll, Mr. Funke, and Lord Jazz make a strong return eight years later with HOUSE OF LORDS. Unswayed by the myriad trends in the fickle rap world, the Lords of the Underground present an updated version of that early '90s East Coast flava on their fourth album. Featuring funk-drenched production from the Are, Lounge Lizzards, Chi-Town Rise, Josh Beats, and the man, Marley Marl, himself, HOUSE OF LORDS sees the Newark representatives picketing for hip-hop purity. Mr. Funke laments on the opening cut, "I disagree with what they say/Hip-Hop ain't dead, it just ain't bein' made." At least the Lords are still making it.
