After concluding his acclaimed trilogy of traditional folk music on the albums Etxea, Kalea, and Herria, master of the Basque trikitixa accordeon Kepa Junkera resumes composition duties with Ultramarinos y Coloniales. The Latin Grammy winner is in fine form in this all-instrumental set of 12 new originals inspired by Bilbao's characteristic grocery stores and people. The CD also features text by writer Kirmen Uribe.
