Few bands have suffered back-to-back tragic losses like Germany’s Squealer. In 2006 and 2008, the band lost their longtime vocalist Andy Allendörfer and his replacement Gus Chambers (Grip Inc.), both in accidental deaths. This alone would make many bands call it quits; however, Squealer has found the strength to persevere and releases its heaviest, most aggressive album in its 20-year career with THE CIRCLE SHUTS. Armed with new vocalist Norbert Vornam, the quintet pushes forward with an album that combines the passion of Nevermore with the brutality of the best Bay Area thrashers.
